Competency Statement
|
Upon successful completion of the Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer Course individuals will be:
Eligible for registration as a Fisaf accredited Fitness Leader
Able to perform and competently analyse a written health risk screening questionnaire
Able to measure and interpret blood pressure, body composition and regional fat distribution
Able to develop safe and effective resistance training programmes for a variety of general and special needs
Able to develop safe and effective cardiovascular training programmes for a variety of general and special needs
Able to develop safe and effective flexibility programmes for a variety of general and special needs
Competently teach correct exercise technique for the former fitness components
Perform and analyse a nutritional analysis by questionnaire

Assessment Procedures
|
1. A Minimum Pass mark of 76% is required to pass the Theory Examination. The Examination will consist of true/false; multiply choice, short answer and case study questions.
2. You will be required to complete the Study manual given to you at the commencement of the course prior to your practical assessment. The Study Manual shall be handed in to the Assessor at the time of your Practical Exam.
3. For the Practical Assessment, you are to arrange a friend, colleague or other trainer, to act as a client.The venue for the practical will be Ngee Ann unless other arrangements are made.
4. You will need a valid CPR certification.
5.Trainers will also be required to submit a personal portfolio as part of their final assessment. Guidance is given through the course.
6. You will be provided with a list of FISAF Certified Examiners available to examine you.
