| Course Content | Outline of Topics to be covered:Music, Technical and Instructor Skills,Cueing and Communication, Warm Ups and Cool Downs,Base Moves and Elements of Variations,Basic Learning Curves,Muscle Conditioning, Freestyle teaching and organised Action, Employment Issues and a variety of programme options eg. yoga, pilates, step, circuits, swissball. |
| Competency Statement |
By the end of the workshop the student will be able to:
1. eligible for registration as a F.I.S.A.F. accredited Aerobic and Group Exercise Instructor 2. develop safe and effective exercise classes to music in a variety of formats 3.competantly apply for employment as an Aerobics Instructor 4. act professionally as an Aerobic Instructor and promote exercise to all levels of the community |
| Assessment Procedures |
A Theory Examination will be held at the end of the course and a grade of 78% is required to PASS. The participant is also given, and expected to complete, the Home Study Booklet before the Practical Examination and this is handed to the Assessor at the time of the Practical Exam.
On successful completion of the theory examination the participant is expected to teach an Aerobics and Group Exercise class of approximately 45-60 minutes to complete the requirements for Certification. Each participant must also have a valid CPR Certification or be in the process of gaining one. |
